Breitling

Formed in 1884 with the expressed goal of manufacturing high quality timepieces, it was Breitling that created the first wrist chronograph in 1915, an item that rapidly became popular with pilots. Breitling is also credited with having invented the first push action chronograph in 1923 and then consolidated its position as pilots favourite by becoming the official supplier to the Royal Air Force in 1936. The Navitimer (1952) incorporated a ‘navigation computer’ that made it a must -have of pilots worldwide. The Cosmonaute model was worn by American astronaut Scott Carpenter during America’s second manned space flight. To this day, Breitling remains a major force in quality watches, especially for the aviation and yachting fraternity.
